Sales Funnels

January 01, 20237 min read

So what is a sales funnel?

A sales funnel is like a funnel that you pour liquid into.

At the top of the funnel, you have a wide opening where you pour in lots of potential customers.

As they move through the funnel, some of them will drop out, but others will continue on until they reach the bottom of the funnel and make a purchase.

While creating one sales funnel is great for certain reasons, creating multiple funnels is the choice every business should make!

Sales funnels are something that you will always want in place for every unique offer you create!

So what's the purpose of creating multiple sales funnels?

Let me explain...

The purpose of creating multiple sales funnels is so that you can target different groups of people and sell them different products.

For example, you might have one sales funnel for people who are interested in buying a physical product, and another sales funnel for people who are interested in buying a digital product.

Another example, you might have one sales funnel for Product A and another sales funnel for Product B.

Why? Because not everyone interested in Product A will be interested in Product B.

It makes no sense to waste time and money showing offers to people who have no desire to see them or purchase them.

So what is involved in the process of creating a sales funnel?

There are several elements to creating a sales funnel:

0.) Identify your target audience. Ask yourself "who is most likely to buy my products or services?" Then make your headlines, offers, lead magnets and everything else to specifically cater to this audience.

  1. 1.) The headline: This is the first thing that people see when they land on your website or landing page. It should grab their attention and make them want to keep reading.

  2. 2.) The offer: This is what you're offering to the potential customer. It could be a product, a service, or something else.

  3. 3.) The lead magnet: This is something that you give away for free in exchange for the person's email address. It could be a PDF, a video, or something else.

  4. 4.) The email opt-in form: This is where the person enters their email address to receive the lead magnet.

  5. 5.) The thank-you page: This is the page that the person sees after they opt in to receive the lead magnet. It could contain a video, a PDF, or something else.

  6. 6.) The sales page: This is the page where you make the actual offer to the person. It should contain all the information they need to make a decision about whether to buy or not.

  7. 7.) The order form: This is where the person enters their payment information and makes the purchase.

There are a few complexities to the entire process, such as making sure that the sales page is optimized for conversions and that the email follow-up sequence is set up correctly.

For this reason it is always suggested that you seek help from professional sales funnel builders, conversion optimazation specialists like the expert team we have here at Lead-Finity!

So if it's so complicated and time consuming why the heck should I ever get a sales funnel or multiple sales funnels?

Here are 8 reasons it would be beneficial for any business to create a sales funnel:

  1. 1.) A sales funnel helps you to focus on the most important thing: making sales.

  2. 2.) A sales funnel allows you to easily track your progress and see where you might need to make changes.

  3. 3.) A sales funnel helps you to build trust with your potential customers.

  4. 4.) A sales funnel allows you to upsell and cross-sell to your existing customers.

  5. 5.) A sales funnel helps you to build an email list of potential customers.

  6. 6.) A sales funnel allows you to nurture leads that aren't ready to buy yet.

  7. 7.) A sales funnel helps you to segment your audience and tailor your marketing messages to them.

  8. 8.) A sales funnel allows you to test and optimize different elements of your marketing to see what works best.

Now, many people tend to confuse sales funnels for websites!

While a sales funnel is technically a series of pages on the internet... It could not be more different from a website!

The difference between a sales funnel and a website is that a website is a general overview of your business, whereas a sales funnel is a specific process that you use to turn visitors into customers.

A website is like a store, while a sales funnel is like a checkout counter.

A traditional website welcomes customers to your business, gives them a menu to click around and learn more about your business, your team, maybe see a gallery or some videos, learn more in general & most importantly a website gives someone a place to contact you!

Now in a sales funnel, you do not want to give the viewer as much freedom to roam!!!

Why?

Simple...

Because if they roam they lose focus on your main goal of giving/selling them something that will help them!

Remember, in a sales funnel, you picked one specific audience who is most likely to buy your products or services, so a funnel is essentially a very specific site for them and ONLY THEM!

A sales funnel needs to capture their attention & keep it focused on the end goal of getting your products or services into their hands and more importantly on the credit cards so you can continue to run a profitable business!

Adding fancy navigation menus and giving people the freedom to roam around within a sales funnel would turn it into a website and it is never worth the cost of advertising to send people directly to a confusing website!

Quick Question...

Why was the math book sad?

It had too many problems, but no solutions.

Just like a sales funnel without a sales page.

At the end of the day, if you are doing business ethically and actually trying to serve those you advertise too...

Your funnel should 100% capture their attention & practically force them to get your products or services from you!

Generally you create products or services to better help your target audience solve a specific problem or series of similar problems!

Take Lead-Finity for example...

Sometimes we create sales funnels to target very specific individuals with very specific offers to better cater to their problems and provide solutions.

One example of this would be our new offer specifically tailored to the tattoo parlor industry, tattoo artists & piercers....

While Lead-Finity can work within any and all businesses, how would a tattoo artist specifically know that?

Tattoo artists are focused on the tools, knowledge and technology in the tattoo industry and primarily are not out here looking for techy software programs...

Even though some of these techy software programs can get them more customers and solve problems they did not even know they had with lead generation.

So it is our job to create a sales funnel specifically for the tattoo parlor industry and get them interested in Lead-Finity so that our software can help them solve their problems.

You can check out this funnel as an example at https://13.lead-finity.com

I Wouldn't send a tattoo artist to my actual lead-finity.com website because they would not be interested in some techy software that they do not understand could help them and our website is very general, as it has to be, so when random visitors land on it they can put there own conclusions together or reach out to us!

I hope that helps and that you found it both informative and entertaining! Is there anything else you'd like to know?
